History Salisbury Heritage Museum 01

In 2021 the Salisbury District Historical Society celebrates 40 years of keeping alive the history of the Salisbury District.

Formed in 1981, the Salisbury and District Historical Society shares information about South Australian and Australian history and focuses on the Salisbury District. The Society often hosts guest speakers with expertise on a wide range of topics, in their effort to support the collection, reading and classification of works, source material and artifacts of all kinds. All sections of the community are encouraged to access their resources. The Historical Society is located in the Old Salisbury Police Station. Various talks and information sessions are run from this location. Some of the popular talks the society run include a visit to the Salisbury Waterwheel Museum, a walking tour of the cemetery at St John's Anglican Church and tours of the Folk Museum.
