Salisbury Aquatic Centre
The Salisbury Recreation Precinct is currently closed for renovations and is due to reopen as the exciting new Salisbury Aquatic Centre in 2024. The tennis courts and surrounding reserve is still open to the public.
The City of Salisbury is currently undertaking a redevelopment of the Salisbury Aquatic Centre, which is nestled within the picturesque natural setting of Happy Homes Reserve. Co-funded by the Government of South Australia, this new and improved facility will provide a diverse range of aquatic, health and leisure services to the community of Salisbury.
To support Council to understand what was important to the community in a new aquatic centre, a comprehensive community consultation process was undertaken. This consultation attracted significant feedback indicating very strong support for a new aquatic centre which provided opportunities to swim for fun, fitness and education (swimming lessons). The most requested facilities included an indoor warm water pool, water slide, café, picnic area and water play, in addition to a strong preference for an outdoor 50-metre pool versus an outdoor 25-metre pool.
The new aquatic facility will operate all year round and include:
- New swimming centre building infrastructure and amenities
- New indoor multi-use lap/leisure pool and speciality program pool
- Fitness gym
- Café
- New outdoor eight-lane 50m swimming pool
- New outdoor water slides and waterplay
- Landscaping improvements
- Upgraded car park and pedestrian links
The new Salisbury Aquatic Centre is set to open in 2024.
